Learning about your Learners

Many of the issues kids face regarding school– like, not wanting to go to school, hating math, failing history— comes from a disconnect in learning. Overall, classrooms are taught in two ways: with words (teacher in the front of the classroom teaching and students listening/taking notes) or through exact answers (math problems and a, b, or c answer choices). However, those two methods are not the only two ways that students are wired to learn. In this workshop, I teach on the multiple intelligence theory (Gardner, 1983), which introduces eight variations to learning and being.

3 Key Takeaways:

  1. What’s the difference between a student and a learner?

  2. What are the different ways of learning?

  3. How can I apply this information in how I teach?

This information is revolutionary to teachers, parents, and students! Everyone should always be learning in life, but everyone is also extremely unique. There is so much freedom in learning how to teach for all learners!
