How to be Confident w/ Levi Cagle

welcome to Season 4!

Equipping parents during their child’s academic years to bring learning to daily moments.

on today’s episode…

Hey lifelong learners, I have the privilege of bringing my son along with me. If you need to pause it real quick and grab your child, or if you have a teenager just forward it to them so they can listen to it when they have a minute.

But this is a special episode to help the next generation hear from a fellow voice about being confident in these busy, loud, and chaotic times we live in.

insights

In this episode, Kelly Cagle and her son Levi discuss the topic of confidence. They explore the challenges faced by the next generation and how to battle negative thoughts and comments. They also discuss the impact of change and transitioning to new environments. Levi shares his personal experiences and offers advice on staying confident in school and overcoming fear and self-doubt. They emphasize the importance of treating others with respect and understanding, and the role of parents in supporting their children's confidence. The episode concludes with a discussion on working towards goals and the importance of consistency.

Takeaways

  • Confidence is believing in yourself and feeling unstoppable.

  • Negative comments and haters can affect confidence, but self-talk and choosing to believe in oneself can combat them.

  • Change can be challenging, but with the right mindset and support, it becomes easier to adapt and build confidence.

  • Asking questions and seeking understanding in school helps build confidence and overcome fear of judgment.

  • Treating others with respect and choosing not to bring others down contributes to personal confidence.

  • Parents should create an open and supportive environment for their children to discuss their struggles and provide guidance and understanding.

  • Consistency and hard work are key to building confidence and achieving goals.

CONFIDENCE

  • Levi, define confidence in your own terms.

  • Examples:

    • In third grade, we enrolled you in a new school– talk about that process

  • When you’re scared, worried, or anxious, what do you do?

    • “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?” Matt 7:3

  • How do you stay confident in school?

    • You play soccer– how do you have confidence under lots of pressure and stress?

  • What advice would you give to your peers to grow in confidence, despite what is pulling for their attention, time, efforts, or emotions?

HEY THERE! I’M DR. CAGLE… DO YOU NEED HELP WITH CREATING GREAT HABITS???

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference Parenting is hard work. It requires tons of boundaries, daily consistency, so much awareness, as well as lots of patience, grace, wisdom, and filters. Combine that hefty list with all of life’s demands and others’ voice may become louder than yours in your child’s life, increasing their anxiety, fears, and doubts.

Healthy parenting is about seeing yourself as your child’s #1 teacher, saying the right words (or nothing at all) at the right time, and having the right tools to be intentional and impactful. Guessing your way through life, which is what most parents do, is a recipe for failure, but following the lead of someone who has two decades of research-based information and fully understands the demands of parenthood is a recipe for a full life— for you and your child.

With a PhD in education, I’m here to teach you how to use daily moments are learning opportunities so you raise confident and competent lifelong learners that thrive in an ever-changing world.

Additionally, I offer workshops and keynotes on various topics to parents, educators, students, and business leaders— because the need to understand, support, and empower learners is everywhere..
