Fighting in a crowd is inevitable… In this episode, Josh and I talk about writing a GAME PLAN when you’re about to hang out with outsiders, whether they’re family members, friends, or co-workers!

Try this pre-, during-, and post-game plan, and let us know how it helped you fight (or avoid a fight!) in your next social outing.

insights

PRE-GAME: Pick your battles ahead of time

  • Discuss scenarios that could arise

  • Don’t questions each other’s parenting in front of the kids

  • DURING GAME: Values are consistent inside and outside the home

  • AFTER GAME: If there were moments of arguments in public, debrief! Unpack it to prevent future fights

  • Ephesians 4:26-27, “Don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.”

  • Prepare yourself for success by picking your battles ahead of time, stay consistent to your values during outings, and debrief afterwards.
