Speak to the choice rather than the identity.
Ex: don’t add to the labels they already give themselves… help them understand what the right choices are.Praise their efforts a lot.
Ex: speak positive words over them, so it fills their minds.When they fail, be their support system.
Ex: be one of the first ones to come to their rescue when failures happen. Teach them how to digest failure in ways they learn from them, not find judgment in those moments.
